PIXIE LITERARY X SOLILOQUIES ANTHOLOGY OPEN MIC FUNDRAISER

Theme: Marginalia: Scribbles, Scraps, and Notes Apps
For the first time ever, both Pixie Literary Magazine and Soliloquies Anthology are collaborating on an Open Mic that you’ll certainly remember. This time around, we don’t want to hear your best, we want to hear your messiest. We’re looking for readings which resist perfection and conventional literary standards. Read us that short story from your first workshop that you abandoned. Or the breakup poem in your notes app that you’d never dream of publishing. Or your elaborate Hunger Games fan-fiction that did numbers in 2013 but you cringe to think about now. We want messy, weird, vulnerable, uncomfortable.
If you’ve got something in your repertoire that fits (and we Know that you do), sign up below! If you’re just looking to enjoy the evening as an audience member, RSVP below to receive an email with our Open Mic address.
We want to give our thanks to Bedroc Collective for hosting us in their wonderful space (you can check out what they do on Instagram @bedrocmtl or on their website bedroc.org ). Additionally, thank you to the Queer Print Club for generously donating several beautiful print pieces as raffle prizes for the evening.
When: Friday, March 13th 2026 at 7pm
Where: Bedroc (Near Rosemont metro, RSVP for address)
Cost of Entry: PWYC Donation, suggested $5
Featuring Raffle Prizes from Concordia’s Queer Print Club and more, along with musical performances from Bedroc Collective
Note: RSVP and Sign-Up have been closed as we’ve reached capacity for the evening. Thank you everyone for your interest!! Venue details have been emailed to those who’ve registered. If you did not receive anything, or if you have any other questions, please reach out to us at soliloquies.concordia@gmail.com

FALL 2025 OPEN MIC FUNDRAISER

Step up to the mic and read your creative work for an audience of supportive fellow writers! Read your favourite (or least-favourite, there’s no rules here) poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. Gain inspiration from the writers in your community. Buy a drink or three (please). You’ll have the opportunity to do all of this and more at the Soliloquies Anthology Fall 2025 Open Mic!
As well as being an exciting event to connect with your community of writers and readers, this evening will also be dedicated to fundraising for this upcoming edition of Soliloquies Anthology. The money raised through this evening will go directly back into our printing costs, as dramatic changes in our funding will likely impact the size and scope of our upcoming print issue. In short, the more drinks you buy and the more you donate = the larger our page count can be = the better your chances to be published in Edition 30.1!
Date and Time: October 9th at 19:00
Location: Mes Pants De Queer, 2025 Rue Parthenais, Suite 241
Cost of Entry: PWYC ($5 recommended donation)
EDITION 29.2 LAUNCH

Celebrate the launch of issue 29.2 of Soliloquies Anthology at Cardinal Tea Room on May 22nd, 7 – Late.
Hear readings from our contributors, along with our two feature readers and former Editor-in-Chiefs, Morgan Gordon and Jade Palmer.
The content in both of our issues this year challenge what it means to take up space. Our prose takes us into the edges of the cosmos, and turns us backwards to focus on our digital reality. Our poetry grapples with questions of intimacy, both in our personal relationships and beyond—from the edges of the clouds, to the Decembers, and the icebox.
We are so excited for the launch, and we hope that you can join us.

FUNDRAISER OPEN-MIC
We are so happy to share that our first event is an open-mic at Librairie De Stiil Bookstore on September 27th, from 19:00 – 22:00 !
Unfortunately, by virtue of the tuition-hikes enacted by the provincial government this past year, Soliloquies Anthology has had a significant decrease in funding.
Despite these challenges, we want to foster a communal literary space — and hopefully fundraise enough to be able to ensure we can provide two issues this upcoming year.
To secure a spot to read at our event, here is a link to our Google Form:
