- Compiling all submissions at the end of each week into Word documents (one for poetry, one for prose) for the respective editors. This will take place during the four weeks that submissions are open

Prose and Poetry Editor(s)
Prose Editors and Poetry Editors are expected to read all submissions during open periods; they can expect a high volume of reading during this time, so a time commitment of 5-10 hours a week during the call for submissions will be necessary. Decisions on all submissions must be sent to the Managing Editor on a strict deadline. They also work with authors directly on selected pieces to make any necessary edits before publication. Previous writing and editing experience is ideal but not required. Collaboration skills and close attention to detail are crucial.
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Reading all submissions received by the Managing Editor and providing initial decisions with rationale during the submission period
- Attending one decision meeting per issue (two meetings in total) to discuss and finalize decisions on each piece with other corresponding editors
- Providing thoughtful edits for selected pieces under a strict deadline
- Working closely with authors to ensure each edit aligns with their vision for their work
*Please note that the Poetry Editor and Prose Editor positions are separate roles, although you are welcome to apply for both.*
